Before the Storm
Written by Lora Hartin
Performed by Gill Buckle and Kwaku Fortune
Two people at a house party make a big decision the night before lockdown is implemented.
“I thought it would be interesting to explore an undefined relationship in those final hours to see how all of that tension and anxiety about the future might make people act, and be vulnerable in a way that they felt they couldn’t be before.” – Lora Hartin
Lora Hartin
Lora is a soon-to-be fourth-year Drama and Theatre student at Trinity College. She has a background in theatre and film, and a special interest in writing for performance.
She will occasionally perform, although each time she claims that she will never do it again.
She has worked on film projects such as A Dark Song (2016), and Michael Inside (2018), as well as numerous theatre projects within DU Players and the Trinity College Drama Department, the most recent of which being Supermoon and Duck Duck (No) Goose, which featured as part of the 2020 TCD Drama Devising Festival.
She hopes to continue writing in some capacity after college, although, with nothing but a drama degree under her belt, she really just hopes to be able to find work of any kind in the future.
