Jim Culleton, Artistic Director of Fishamble: The New Play Company, is pleased to announce the launch of The New Play Clinic as a pilot scheme, a new initiative to support the dramaturgical development of new dramatic theatre for the Irish stage. This scheme is a formal expansion of the dramaturgical services Fishamble already provides on an ongoing basis to writers and artists around Ireland.

The objective of the Clinic is to help maximise the potential of plays for production in Ireland, through practical dramaturgical support.

The pilot scheme will support the development of 2/3 plays in this initial phase, and is now seeking statements of interest from artists, companies and organisations.

The deadline for application is 21st June 2010.

The pilot scheme will be monitored and evaluated by Irish Theatre Institute, at the invitation of Fishamble, to assess its impact and effectiveness.
