Are you an actor who would like to work with leading theatre professionals in creating your very own new work? Want to take control of your career and star in a play especially written for you by a leading Irish playwright?
Dublin Fringe Festival, Irish Theatre Institute (ITI) and Fishamble: The New Play Company are collaborating to support you to produce your very own Show in a Bag.

Dublin Fringe Festival, Irish Theatre Institute (ITI) and Fishamble: The New Play Company are collaborating to support you to produce your very own Show in a Bag.
Written by Gavin Kostick to your specifications and performed by YOU, this is a chance to have your very own tourable show. Five actors or pairs of actors will perform their 45 minute piece as part of ABSOLUT Fringe 2010. ITI will be working to make sure the national venue and festival presenters most suited to present your show come see it and meet you at the annual Information Toolbox.
This project is aimed at actors, either solo or in pairs, who are looking to engage with new writing and have the energy and drive to fundraise and put together a production that will then be theirs to perform and tour. You will be in control – this is YOUR show.
If you are interested in applying to be part of this project, you need to fill out this form http://bit.ly/aWYrBw and then email a CV and headshot to lian@fringefest.com (nothing bigger than 2MB please).
Deadline for applications is 6pm Friday 21st May.
Suitable applicants will be invited for interview/audition on Tuesday 1st June.
From this process five actors, or pairs of actors, with be invited to work closely with Gavin Kostick through June in developing a new 45 minute play especially written for them. Dublin Fringe Festival and ITI will provide ongoing support in direction, budgeting and production, as well as addressing issues such as negotiating your own contract negotiations for future productions.
The actors will need to commit to some fundraising towards production and a split deal will be done with Dublin Fringe Festival to regain costs through ticket sales. Also, once the festival is over it is up to the actors to keep the show on the road and keep plugging it.
The Show in a Bag initiative is presented by Dublin Fringe Festival, Irish Theatre Institute and Fishamble: The New Play Company.
