Handel’s Crossing, to be staged on the Jeanie Johnston ship for a limited run, is a theatrical re-imagining of George Frideric Handel’s arrival to Dublin in 1742 for the world premiere of Messiah. Meet the great composer and his servants on board, as they await with bated breath the first performance on Fishamble Street of this now revered masterpiece.
Boarding at the Liffey River Cruises dock at Bachelor’s Walk, audiences will be ferried down the river, to the Jeanie Johnston ship at Custom House Quay marina for the live performance on the ship.
‘a comic commemoration of Handel’s landmark composition, fittingly performed in its stage incarnation on the historic Jeanie Johnston ship.’
