Description:
From Both Hips is a dark and dangerous comedy set in Dublin’s suburbs. Through a series of often hilarious scenes, the events unfold to reveal a sinister search for justice and revenge by Paul, who has been accidentally shot by a member of the Gardaí. This search takes the characters through a series of misunderstandings, adulterous affairs and violent encounters.
Mark O’Rowe was one of the winners of the Stage It!/Young Playwrights programme in 1995. He was commissioned by Dublin Youth Theatre and his play Sulk was presented by Tallaght Youth Theatre in Andrew’s Lane Studio in 1996.
This was Mark’s first full-length, professionally produced play and played the Project Arts Centre, Dublin June 30 to July 26 1997.
